Enable Steam Cloud sync
If Steam doesn't automatically download your old saves after installing a game, you need to enable Steam Cloud Sync:
1. Locate the game in your Steam library, right-click it, then select Properties.
2. Click the General tab and make sure the Keep game saves in Steam Cloud option is checked for the game.
If you don't see a Steam Cloud option for a game here, that means that game doesn't support Steam Cloud.
Back up Steam Cloud saves to PC
To backup Steam Cloud saves to PC, you first need to know where the cloud files are stored on your PC. Generally, they are located in the following path:
C://Program Files (x86)//Steam//userdata//[SteamID]//[AppID]/emote
1. From the main interface, click Backup, File Backup.
2. Click Add File or Add Folder to select Steam Cloud backup files/folders to backup.
3. Click the destination box to specify a path to store the backup image.
4. Enable Schedule backup as needed. Finally, click Start Backup to run your first backup.
Restore Steam Cloud Saves
If Steam Cloud saves are accidentally deleted or corrupted due to server or internet error, you can restore Steam Cloud saves from the backup you created earlier.
1. Select Restore, then click Select Task.
2. Select the file backup task from the list and click Next.
3. Select Steam Cloud backup files or folders from the list tree and click Next.
4. Select a location to restore the backup files. Two options are available: Restore to original location or Restore to new location. Choose one according to your needs and click Start Restore to initiate this operation.
