If you’re afraid to use your Instant Pot don’t be. If you have one you should use it. The thing that struck me the most as I started using my Instant Pot regularly as I started visiting the various Instant Pot groups and reading the comments on Instagram (#instantpot) is this. There are countless people who bought this modern appliance and never use it. They’re generally nervous about pressure cooking or have no idea how to incorporate it into their culinary lives. Others leave it on the counter and use it occasionally for making beans or yogurt. Don’t get me wrong the legions of Instant Pot fans are strong (and encouraging and helpful!) but there are many people who are clearly overwhelmed not quite inspired or can’t quite find their Instant Pot tribe (important!). If any of these scenarios apply to you I hope this post can help you a little and perhaps reframe how you think about this kitchen tool especially if you’re a new user.
