By default, the Windows 10 Edge browser saves your downloads in the /"Downloads/" folder under your profile. This tutorial will show how to change the default download location for files. This tutorial will apply to computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running Windows 10 (Home, Pro, Business, Education) operating system.
Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are configured by default to download files to the user's Downloads folder.
The location does not change from device to device, so Windows users know where to look when it comes to locating downloaded files on Windows machines.
Although convenient, the download folder is not always the best location for downloads. This may be the case if the computer's primary partition is rather small in terms of size. If you've ever tried to download a Windows ISO or other file that's at least several gigabytes in size, you know that space can be an issue in these cases.
You can change where downloads are saved in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. The options for doing this are somewhat hidden though, hence this tutorial.
