There are three simple steps you can mix and match to make YouTube more kid-friendly and hide adult content.
Step 1: Use YouTube Kids instead of the YouTube app. If you can keep your kids on the YouTube Kids app, designed for kids 12 and under, it's less likely to contain adult content of any kind.
Step 2: Enable Restricted Mode on the YouTube app on iPhone, iPad, and Android, then enable Restricted Mode on YouTube.com
Make sure to lock this option so that it cannot be easily changed.
Step 3: Enable SafeSearch for your Google account. Google owns YouTube, so this option carries over to YouTube and Google searches.
