In this video, we'll create a new group text chat, and then we'll give the new chat a unique name.
First of all, if everyone in your group chat is using an iPhone with iMessage, then you can do more with your group messages, like send and receive full resolution photos and videos, message effects, sharing places, collaborating on shared projects and, most importantly. , the possibility of naming a group.
If the chat members are on Android, then you will be a little more limited in terms of quality and types of photos and videos, sharing and customizing the group and group name.
You'll know if you're full of iOS users when the message bubbles are blue, and if you have a mix, then the message bubbles will be green.
Let's assume everyone is using iOS and all the feature options.
Start by going to your messaging app and starting a new text message. Start typing the text of the group members you want and select them one by one.
Once you've included people in the To field, go ahead and type and send a message. This will then automatically create the group chat. If we look at the thread here, we can see the group. But you see that the default displays a list of names. So, let's customize it to display a group name that we want to use, for example family.
Tap the message to enter the chat, then tap the profile icons at the top here. When the info screen appears, if everyone is on iOS, we can tap Edit Name & Photo. Here you can then change the group name and also give it a group profile icon. Make your changes, then tap Done.
Now, if you look at the group chat in your message thread, you'll see that it appears under the new name and icon you gave it. This will also change the name and icon of everyone else in the group and let them know it has been updated.
