PDF is a widely used format for sharing files online. Before, you had to download the file and you had to have a PDF viewing application such as Adobe Acrobat to view these files. But nowadays, browsers integrate PDF plugins to view files online without downloading.

Type chrome://plugins/ into the browser address bar.
You can see all installed plugins.
To disable the PDF viewer, click “Turn Off” for Chrome PDF Viewer.
