Fast Startup is a feature that speeds up the startup process, combining hibernation and regular shutdown to speed up system startup.

While it's a useful feature, fast startup can also cause issues. For example, this can cause conflicts when installing updates, managing storage devices with encryption or in dual boot systems, since it will not allow you to access the drive from the other configuration. On some systems, you may not be able to access the motherboard's UEFI (BIOS) if Fast Boot is enabled.
