While notification sounds in Windows 11 can be helpful in getting your attention, there are definitely some scenarios where they aren't welcome. For example, you probably don't want your laptop to emit notifications when you're in a meeting or recording audio. Luckily, whether you want to turn off Windows 11 notification sounds forever or temporarily, Microsoft makes it easy.
Now let's move on to the steps to turn off notification sounds in Windows 11.
Step 1. Press /"Windows/" and /"I/" keys simultaneously on your Windows 11 Home screen to open the Windows 11 Settings screen.
Step 2. Make sure /"System/" is selected from the menu on the left side of the screen, then click /"Notifications/" on the right side of the screen. The Notifications window appears.
Step 3. Click "Notifications." The notifications bar will expand with additional options.
Step 4. Find /"Allow notifications to play sounds/", then click to remove the check from this option. Moving forward, you will continue to see Windows 11 notifications appear, but there will no longer be any notification sounds to inform you of these notifications.
