/"To know/" Before downgrading:**
1. Upgrade depends on Apple firmware support. If Apple closes the signing window for iOS 17.1, downgrading becomes impossible.
2. Downgrading causes data loss, so back up your data before upgrading to iOS 18.
3. If you did not take a backup before upgrading, take a backup now and then restore after upgrading.
**Step 1: Turn off Find My**
– Go to Settings – Account – Locate and turn it off to avoid problems when saving and downgrading.
**Step 2: Back up your data in iTunes**
– Connect your device to your computer.
– Open iTunes or Finder, go to the Summary page and click "Back Up Now" to create a local backup.
– If iTunes does not support iOS 18 beta yet, use Finder for backup.
**Step 3: Downgrade iOS 18 Beta**
**Method 1: Downgrade with ReiBoot**
– Download ReiBoot and open it.
– Click the Downgrade button, select Downgrade. It automatically detects the available upgrade version.
– Make sure your backup is complete, then start the downgrade process.
**Method 2: Downgrade with iTunes**
– Download the IPSW file from IPSW.me for your iPhone model.
– Open iTunes or Finder, import the IPSW file.
– Hold Shift, click Restore iPhone and select the IPSW file.
– Confirm the restore to downgrade your iPhone.
**Step 4: Change backup from iOS 18 to iOS 17**
– Open the Run dialog box (Win R), type %appdata% and press Enter.
– Go to Apple Computer – MobileSync – Backup.
– Open the most recent backup folder, find info.plist and open it in Notepad.
– Search for /"product/" and change iOS 18 to iOS 17.5.1, then save the file.
**Step 5: Restore Backup**
– Return to iTunes, click /"Restore Backup/" and select the modified backup.
– iTunes will restore your data and restart your iPhone.
