What you will learn:
Go to the Google Play Store:
Click the launcher icon in the lower left corner of your screen (looks like a circle).
Select /"Play Store/" from the list of applications.
Search for apps:
In the Play Store, use the search bar at the top to find the app you want.
Type the application name (for example, /"Microsoft Word/") and press Enter.
Install an application:
Click the app in the search results to view its details.
Click /"Install/" to begin the installation process.
Check the permissions required by the application and click /"Accept/" to continue.
Wait for the installation:
The application will be downloaded and installed automatically. You can see the progress in the notification area.
Open the installed application:
Once the installation is complete, click /"Open/" to launch the application.
You can also find the app in your launcher for later use.
Uninstall an app:
If you want to uninstall an app, right-click the app icon in the launcher.
Select /"Uninstall/" from the menu and confirm the removal.
Install Chrome extensions:
Chromebooks also support Chrome extensions for additional functionality.
Open Chrome and go to the Chrome Web Store.
Find the extension you want, click /"Add to Chrome/", then click /"Add extension./"
Update installed applications:
Apps will be updated automatically by default, but you can update them manually.
Open the Play Store, click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) and choose /"My apps and games./"
Click /"Update All/" to update all apps or update individual apps if necessary.
Pro Tip: Enable /"Google Play Protect/" in Play Store settings for added security.
