Follow the steps below to add subtitles in VLC:
1. Go to https://www.opensubtitles.org/ and create a free account. Confirm your account via the email you receive.
2. Open the movie you want to watch in VLC Media Player.
3. From the VLC top menu, select View then VLsub.
4. Once the VLsub menu opens, select Show Configuration.
5. Enter your username and password at https://www.opensubtitles.org/ and select Save.
6. Now in VLsub select either search by hash or search by name.
7. From the results, select the subtitles you want to download, select Download Selected.
8. Subtitles have now been added to your movie in VLC.
