Voice typing, or dictation, on your iPad can be a powerful tool for quickly entering text without typing. Whether you're writing emails, taking notes, or chatting with friends, turning this feature on and off is simple and can greatly improve your productivity. Here's how to manage voice typing on your iPad:
How to enable and disable voice typing (dictation) on iPad
Start by unlocking your iPad and going to the Home screen. Next, locate the Settings app icon (it looks like a gear) and tap to open it. Next, scroll down and tap "General." This section contains various features that improve the usability of your iPad.
At this point, find and tap /"Keyboard./" This option handles keyboard inputs as well as voice typing on your iPad. Scroll down in the keyboard settings and find the option / "Enable dictation /".
Next, toggle the switch next to /"Enable dictation/" to enable it. The switch will turn green indicating the feature has been enabled. However, if you want to disable this feature, simply flip the switch to the OFF position. The switch turns gray indicating that the feature has been disabled.
