If your text message list is like most people's, it may be a mix of messages you wanted to receive and spam and junk messages you don't care about. One option to help you filter through the clutter is to enable filters for your text messages, so you can easily choose to see whether you want to see messages from known or unknown senders.

Now let's move on to the steps to filter text messages between known and unknown senders on an Apple iPhone or iPad.

Step 1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. You will land on the Settings screen.

Step 2. Scroll down this menu, then tap /"Messages." The Messages screen appears.

Step 3. Scroll down to the Message Filtering section, then tap to enable the toggle associated with "Filter unknown senders." From your Messages home screen, you can tap /"Filters/" at the top to be taken to a screen where you can see various filtering options for viewing the text messages you received on your iPhone or Apple iPad, including the ability to see messages you've received from known and unknown senders.
