WARNING! Do not attempt to perform this fix if you do not know what you are doing or how to use CMD, also known as Command Prompt! If you make a mistake, you risk permanently losing all your files if they are not backed up! If you want to watch this video tutorial, follow it properly, step by step! If done correctly, this fix should allow you to install the latest Windows 10 update released not too long ago! Many people were experiencing errors when trying to install this latest update. This is Windows 10 security update version 22H2 for X64 systems (KB5034441). Here is the link on how to resize your partition to install WinRE update. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf Check below for my step-by-step method. You can copy the words below or the Microsoft guide and then paste them into CMD, also called Command Prompt, if you don't want to type them instead.

Step 1 – Disable any antivirus software and malware you have so that they do not interfere with Command Prompt.
Step 2 – Open Command Prompt, aka CMD, as Administrator, aka (Admin)
Step 3 – Type reagentc /info in the command prompt to find out where your Windows recovery partition is located, then press Enter.
Step 4 – Find the hard drive number and partition number
Step 5 – To resize the partition, type reagentc /disable and press Enter
Step 6 – Type diskpart for disk partition utility and then press Enter
Step 7 – Type list disk then press Enter
Step 8 – Type sel disk 2 to select disk 2 from the four disks listed, then press Enter.
Step 9 – Type list part and then find the primary partition which is the operating system partition also known as OS partition and then press Enter. You need to shrink the primary partition by 250MB, which is megabytes.
Step 10 – Type sel part 3 which means select partition 3 to select the primary partition and then press Enter.
Step 11 – Type Shrink wants250 minimum250 to shrink your primary operating system partition by 250MB because your recovery partition is not big enough to install this update or patch. This patch or update with the error will install a fix for a critical Bitlocker bypass vulnerability. For example: If your data is encrypted, they can access your data or files and bypass your security to access your important personal information or anything you have encrypted. So this update is supposed to hopefully fix this problem, if Microsoft doesn't screw it up too.
Step 12 – Type sel part 4 which means select partition 4 to select the recovery partition from the list and then press Enter. Once done, the primary partition will no longer be selected and the recovery partition will be selected instead.
Step 13 – Type delete partition override *Make sure recovery partition is selected in step 12, otherwise you might accidentally permanently delete your files on your primary partition*
Step 14 – To create a new recovery partition, follow the steps below
a) Check if the disk partition style on your computer is GUID Partition Table (GPT) or Master Boot Record (MBR) by typing list disk then Enter. If there is an asterisk (*) in the /"GPT/" column, it is a GPT drive. Otherwise, it's MBR.
Step 15 – If the disk is GPT type, create primary partition idde94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac then press Enter. On the next line, type gpt attributes 0x8000000000000001 and press Enter. If, on the other hand, your disk is MBR, type create partition Primary id27 instead and press Enter.
Step 16 – To format this partition, type format quick fsntfs label “Windows RE tools” and then press Enter. To confirm that the WinRE partition is created, type list vol then press Enter
Step 17 – Type exit then hit Enter
Step 18 – Type reagentc /enable then press Enter
Step 19 – Type reagentc /info to boot the partition then press Enter
Step 20 – To confirm where WinRE is installed, type reagentc /info then press Enter
Step 21 – Go to Windows Update and try installing your latest Windows 10 update again to see if it works! If so, congratulations! you have just learned how to fix the problem and increase the size of your recovery partition.
Note If the creation failed or you do not want to extend the WinRE partition, type reagentc /enable to re-enable WinRE, and then press Enter.
