How to Fix Spread Apart Desktop Icon Issue on Windows

If for some reason the icons on your desktop are very far apart and you are unable to align them correctly or even align them at all, you may need to apply a certain registry fix to get them aligned properly or even at all. things seem okay again. You can first try right-clicking on the desktop and playing with the display options like snap to grid, etc., but if that doesn't work, this registry edit should do it .

Move towards
Computer//HKEY_CURRENT_USER//Control Panel//Desktop//WindowMetrics

Make sure the IconSpacing and IconVerticalSpacing values are set to -1125, then restart your computer.
