If you're having issues trying to connect to a Bluetooth device, here are some troubleshooting steps to try.

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on
If you're using a laptop that has a physical Bluetooth switch on the body, make sure it's turned on.
In Windows 10, there are two ways to check if Bluetooth is enabled. Here's how:
1. Check in the taskbar. Select the action center. If you don't see Bluetooth, select Expand to display Bluetooth, then select Bluetooth to enable it. You will see "Not Connected" if your Windows 10 device is not paired with any Bluetooth accessories.
2. Check the settings. Select Select the Start button, then select Settings – Devices – Bluetooth and other devices. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

Check your Bluetooth device
Make sure your device is turned on, charged or has fresh batteries, and within range of the PC you want to connect to. Then try the following:
1. Turn off your Bluetooth device, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
2. Make sure your Bluetooth device is within range. If your Bluetooth device is unresponsive or slow, make sure it isn't too close to another USB device plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Unshielded USB devices can sometimes interfere with Bluetooth connections.

Check your PC
1. Make sure Airplane mode is turned off: Select Start, then select Settings — Network & Internet — Airplane mode. Make sure Airplane mode is turned off.
2. Turn Bluetooth on and off: Select Start, then select Settings — Devices — Bluetooth and other devices. Turn Bluetooth off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
3. Remove the Bluetooth device, then add it again: Select Start, then select Settings — Devices — Bluetooth and other devices. In Bluetooth, select the device you are having trouble connecting to, then select Remove Device – Yes.

Run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter
Select Start, then select Settings – Update & Security – Troubleshoot. In Find and fix other problems, select Bluetooth, then select Run the troubleshooter and follow the instructions.

Fix problems with drivers
If you recently upgraded to Windows 10 or installed Windows 10 updates, the current driver may have been designed for an earlier version of Windows. To automatically check for driver updates:
1. In the taskbar search box, search for Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2. In Device Manager, select Bluetooth, and then select the name of the Bluetooth adapter, which may include the word "radio."
3. Long press (or right-click) the Bluetooth adapter, and then select Update driver – Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select Close.
4. After installing the updated driver, select the Start button, select Power – Restart if prompted to restart, and then check if this resolves the connection issue.
5. If Windows cannot find a new Bluetooth driver, visit the PC manufacturer's website and download the latest Bluetooth driver from there.

Uninstall the Bluetooth adapter in Device Manager
If you don't see the Bluetooth icon, but Bluetooth appears in Device Manager, try uninstalling the Bluetooth adapter and trigger an automatic reinstallation. Here's how:
1. In the taskbar search box, enter Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the results.
2. In Device Manager, select Bluetooth. Long-press (or right-click) the Bluetooth adapter name (which may include the word "radio"), then select Uninstall device.
3. Select Start, then Power – Shutdown.
4. Once your device is turned off, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
5. If Windows does not automatically reinstall the driver, open Device Manager and select Action – Scan for hardware changes.
