What is all this junk?
Force Restart: Force the device to restart in order to fix issues or if the device gets stuck. Basically, it's the same as unplugging the power.
DFU mode: “Device firmware upgrade/” mode. Manually preparing the device for iTunes update/restore. Used to bypass passcode/Apple ID verification during restore (does not bypass iCloud Lock!), and has been used in previous jailbreaks. Also ideal for freaking people out.
Recovery Mode: A bootloader used as a last resort when your phone has made a backup. Initiates iTunes connection regardless of anything software related (errors, freezes, glitches, etc.). And it's even better for freaking people out.
Normal mode: when the device is fully functioning. Use the force restart method to exit DFU or recovery mode.
NOTE: If the device refuses to exit Recovery Mode/DFU, your device is probably dead. This can happen when installing crappy Cydia tweaks, when the hardware is broken, or when the firmware is compromised (in this case, restore in iTunes).
