Excel is evolving. With the Stocks and Geography “data types,” we introduced the idea of cells in the Excel grid containing more than just strings of text or numbers. These types of connected data meant for the first time that a single grid cell could contain a set of living, connected and rich information about objects such as stocks, currencies, cities and countries. We are now taking the next step in this journey and enabling customers to work with their own data as a data type.
