video description

Many people want to access the data and obb folders in the Android root directory. But Google has tried to prevent this from happening when using apps currently installed on your smartphone or tablet.

Today I want to show you a quick and easy way to access these folders without needing root access.

This method requires a laptop or desktop computer, but I'm also working on a video that will show you how to do this right on your phone.
So if that's what you're looking for instead, make sure to subscribe to the channel so you'll be notified of the video when it goes live.

However, I think it's fair to assume that most people who want to access these specific folders probably also have a way to use a computer. But I understand that this isn't ideal for everyone, which is why I have more videos planned on this topic in the near future.

So let's go ahead and connect our Android smartphone or tablet to the PC with a USB cable.
This will likely result in a loading notification on the device itself.

You will need to tap this notification and change the mode from Charing to File Transfer before the folders can be accessed through the computer.

Next, we will open a file explorer window on the PC.

This may look different to you, depending on the operating system your computer is using.
But most Windows users will be able to find it by double-clicking the My Computer icon.
Mac users will prefer to use the Finder program, while Linux users will likely find the Home icon quite similar.

So let's double-click on the smartphone or tablet that appears here after the USB mode has been switched to File Transfer.
Then we can browse the Android file system as you would expect.

We can find the data and obb directories by double clicking on the Android folder.
And then dive into the data or obb directories.

So if, for example, I wanted to paste some files into the Yuzu data directory, I would first navigate to the /Android/data directory and then find the Yuzu app folder near the bottom of the list.

The same can be said if I needed to access the obb folder of an app or game we already installed.

I understand that using a computer is not the most convenient way to access these folders. But for some people, this can definitely be the easiest method.
