How we harvest and roast sunflower seeds
One afternoon as I looked out of my living room window I saw something very strange: a squirrel about eight feet up upside down with its tail sticking straight up.
As I quietly walked closer to investigate I saw that the squirrel had climbed into one of my tall sunflower plants. The top of the plant was bent over from the weight of the squirrel. The squirrel had gripped the stem of the plant with its hind legs and was now voraciously digging into the sunflower flower to eat the ripening seeds.
Oh where's the camera when you need it? By the time I got mine the squirrel was already on its way to the plant.
