How to hide folders or files on Android device.
Sometimes we share our smartphone with people for certain reasons. At the same time, we must protect the privacy and security of the contents of the phone.
There is a simple solution if you don't want to install any new apps to protect your data. Here's a simple trick to hide files and folders on Android without installing any third-party apps.
Steps to hide folders and files without installing any apps.
1. Go to File Manager or File Explorer. Every Android device comes with a default file manager app so we don't need to install a new one.
2. Open the device storage or SD card in which you want to store the hidden files.
3. Create a new folder and name it whatever you want. I renamed it "Private".
4. Move all your content or private data there.
5. Now you need to rename your folder by simply adding a period (.) before the folder name. For example, my folder name is “Private” and I need to rename it to Private.
6. By doing this, the folder will disappear. You don't have to worry about it because it is simply hidden in the device.
7. Now, to see your folder, simply unhide it or select the Show hidden files and folders option. You'll find this option by tapping the menu option, then Settings in the file manager and selecting Show hidden folder. To hide again, uncheck Show hidden files.
This is the easiest way to hide your private files in a folder without using any third-party apps on your Android device.
