Watch how to hide a partition on a hard drive. This method will work with Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. I will demonstrate it with the Windows 10 example, but it will work the same with other versions of the Windows operating system.

Sometimes, after reinstalling the operating system or after other actions, you can see in Explorer a reserved system partition or recovery partition, which should be hidden by default.

In order to avoid accidentally damaging the data in this partition, you'd better hide it. Damage to this information may cause problems booting or restoring your operating system.

So, let's get started.

The first method is as follows.

We need to start the Disk Management utility.

To do this, right-click the Start menu and select Disk Management from the menu that appears.

The Disk Management utility is launched.

We can see the list of disks and their partitions.

For example, we want to delete the system reserved disk.

Right-click on it.

In the menu, choose the line “Change drive letter or path”. If there is no such line in the menu, then we will use the second method which I will show you later.

If you have such a line, click on it and then click “Delete” in the window that appears.

Click Yes and the partition disappears from Explorer.

If there is no such line in the menu, it's time to use the second method.

So, let's get started.

Right-click the Start menu and select Command Prompt (Administrator).

Please note that starting it as administrator is required.

The command prompt is ready.

Enter “diskpart”

Then enter “list volume”

Find the volume number that needs to be hidden

In our case, it is disk E, therefore volume 3

Enter “select volume 3”

press enter

Then enter “remove the letter E” (E is the letter of the disk you want to hide)

Press Enter and see the message that the operation was successful

Enter “exit” and close the application

Check that. As we can see, Explorer no longer displays the system reserved disk. That's all for the moment. Thank you for watching.
