In this video, we will see how you can easily hide photos in the Photos app on your iPhone using iOS 16. We will also see how to protect the hidden folder using Face ID, and if you are missing the folder hidden. photo album, how to solve this problem.

To begin, let's find a photo that we want to hide. Open the Photos app and navigate to any album. Tap Select at the top right of the screen, then choose the photo(s) you want to hide.

Then, at the bottom right of the screen, tap the three-dot icon. From the menu, tap Hide. You will then get another pop-up informing you that after being hidden, the photos will be found in the hidden folder and you can choose to show or hide this folder in Settings. We'll look at this part later. Tap hide photos to confirm.

The photos will then be deleted from your current album. To view hidden photos, tap back at the top left or just tap the albums icon at the bottom.

Inside here, scroll down and you will see the Hidden folder under utilities. Choose it and you will be able to see the photos you have hidden.

If you change your mind and want to view the photos in the future, simply select the photos again as before, tap the three dots and choose View. It will then delete the photo from the hidden folder and put it back into the album it came from.

Now if we want we can also lock the hidden folder with Face ID. To do this, close the Photos app and open Settings. Inside here, scroll down and tap Photos. Towards the bottom you will see Use Face ID. By enabling this feature, you will need to use Face ID to view both hidden and recently deleted folders, adding another layer of privacy. So now when we go back to the Photos app and look at the hidden folder, we see a lock on the right. Choose the folder and unlock it with Face ID before you can view the contents.

And finally, if you are missing the hidden folder completely and it looks like this, then the hidden folder option is disabled. Again, close Photos and open the Settings app. Inside here, scroll down and choose Photos. Here at the bottom you will see Show Hidden Album. Tap the slider on the right to enable it. Now go back to Photos and you will see the folder at the bottom of the albums page.
