– Open WhatsApp on your phone.

– Tap the three vertical dots button in the upper right corner, then choose “Settings” from the list of options.

– In settings, select “account” then select “privacy” on the next page.

– To prevent people from knowing when you are online or when you were last online, tap “last seen” and change it to “no one”.

– If you want to turn off "blue checkmarks" so no one can see when you've read their messages, tap "read receipts" to turn off the toggle.

– You want the toggle to be gray, not green.
