If you have a Google device released after the Pixel 5, I can show you how to install the all-new Android 15 Beta 1 update. This update was just announced by Google this week, but it's not officially available only for the company's newer Pixel devices.

I'm going to show you how to do this with the Pixel 8 that I have here, but it will also work with the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel. Tablet, the Pixel Fold, the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro.

Unofficial versions may be released for some devices in the future. So I may be able to cover those installation instructions as well, when they become available.

But for now, let's focus on the Google Pixel series.

To install Android 15 Beta 1, we need to visit the Android Beta program website.
That's what I'm watching here, and I'll be sure to include a link in the video description below.

Once there, make sure you're signed in, then scroll down a bit until you see the Eligible Devices section.

Before you sign up for the Android 15 beta program, make sure you are aware that there may be game-breaking bugs in the game. Not only that, but you should know that if you decide to opt out of the build beta and revert to the stable branch of Android 14. . .you will then be forced to perform a factory data reset and hence lose all data on the device.

But as long as you are willing to accept this risk, we just need to press the Opt in button under the phone on which we want to install Android 15.

After confirmation, we usually only need to wait a minute before checking for a new OTA update.
But sometimes there are delays and in some cases it may take 10 minutes or more before the Android 15 live beta update is available on your device.

Fortunately, this is usually a very quick process, but sometimes it can take a while.

So keep checking for this OTA update and eventually you should see that it is ready to download and install.
We just have to follow the typical OTA update process. That's the great part of this Android beta program.

For years, Google has made it incredibly easy to join the beta program and it's given many of us the confidence to test out the latest update to our smartphone.

This update may take a while, so we'll let it do its thing and come back when we're ready to reboot the Pixel 8 here.

Just like we see with other OTA updates, all it takes is a simple reboot and we're back to the operating system.
And we can check the software section of the About phone menu and confirm that we are indeed using Android 15 beta 1.
