Windows 10 normally puts your laptop into a low-power sleep mode when you close the lid. This can be a problem when you connect your laptop to an external monitor. Use the Control Panel (not the Windows 10 Settings app) to change this behavior.

How to keep the screen on when your laptop is closed:
Method 1.
step 1. right-click the power icon in the system tray
step 2. click on power option.
step 3. click on change plan settings
Step 4. Click Change Advanced Power Settings.
step5. You will see options for the power and sleep buttons. Under When I close the lid, change the Plugged in drop-down to Do nothing.

method 2
step 1. right click on desktop
step 2. click display settings
step 3. go to power and sleep.
step 4. click on the extra power setting.
step5. click on change plan settings
step6. Click Change advanced power settings.
step7. You will see options for the power and sleep buttons. Under When I close the lid, change the Plugged in drop-down to Do nothing.
