Help! I don't know how to make sure everything is warm at the same time

We’re not going to sugarcoat it because there’s no other way to say it: holiday cooking is stressful. From choosing the right recipe to making sure the food tastes delicious home cooks have a lot to manage leading up to and on the big day — and one of the most important things is timing.

It seems like everything at Thanksgiving is cooking at different temperatures and times. You have the turkey that cooks all day the vegetables that are roasted at the last minute and then there are the mashed potatoes.

Do we all underestimate how quickly mashed potatoes cook? Once you’ve peeled your potatoes (if you even do that) and boiled them they’re essentially done and all that’s left is mashing and seasoning. Yet many of us cook our mashed potatoes so quickly before we eat the rest of the meal only for them to get cold and congeal in the pan. And no one wants to eat cold soggy messed-up mashed potatoes.
