Jennifer Garner's Pretend Cooking Show – Episode 23: Pumpkin Bread

Jennifer Garner first made her “favorite” pumpkin bread recipe on a 2020 episode of her “Pretend Cooking Show.” The endearingly sweet and cheerful Garner woke up early (5:37 a.m.!) to make the bread for what we’re assuming was a house full of equally sweet and cheerful friends and family. In front of her eight million-plus Instagram followers she measured poured divided added and pulled her way to a perfectly fluffy loaf of our top-rated Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread. (There was a lot of math involved. Garner whittled the recipe down from three loaves to just one. Don’t worry she shares her math on screen so you can make just one loaf too.)

Despite a little sticky mess with the loaf pan — it happens to the best of us Jennifer — the pumpkin bread came out absolutely perfect. When in doubt grease it again. And yes let it rest for a bit before transferring it to your cooling rack.

In between all the fractions and math Garner shared that she loves this recipe because it’s “indestructible.” Clearly her love for the recipe has stood the test of time because she recently made our pumpkin bread again on another episode of the “Pretend Cooking Show.” This time she used the “toddler-proof” recipe to make three delicious loaves of bread for early holiday gifting.
