Have you been hitting your Apple Fitness goals and strapping on your rings every day, only to realize you forgot to start the workout during the last hour of the best gym outing you've had in months? First of all, great job closing those rings. Second, I went there. In this quick tech video, I'll show you how to manually add the time you missed in the Apple Health app.

First, if you open the Fitness app where you expect to be able to, you'll see the workouts section and recent workouts you've done. If you tap Show more, you will be able to see all your workouts. But you won't be able to add anything inside here.

To do this, close Fitness and open Health.

At the bottom, tap Browse and in the search bar, search for Workouts. Tap the first result under data. This will show you your data entries for your workouts.

At the top, select Add Data. Here you can enter the type of activity, calories burned if known, and any additional data associated with your chosen activity. For example, if you were running, you can enter your distance.

After that, enter the start and end times of your workout. When you're done, click Add at the top right. It will then manually enter your missed workout activity and reflect in the fitness app, which, in turn, will give you those minutes to hit your ring goals. Just make sure you don't cheat to close the rings.

And that's how you manually add a missed workout to the Apple Fitness and Health apps.
