How to measure heart rate (pulse) on your iPhone
It's very easy to measure your pulse on your iPhone. This is a video showing you how to do it using an app that uses the phones built in light that I can highly recommend!

Video transcript:
Hey, I just wanted to make a really quick video showing how to measure your heart rate on your iPhone. If you're not that into fitness, you might just want to monitor your heart rate from time to time, perhaps before you go to bed, after you wake up, or during or after a workout and that's it. is quite simple. I'm pretty handy at doing this on iPhone so I'll show you how.
And the first thing you need to do is go to the App Store and search for heart rate. There are many apps that perform heart rate monitoring. I tried several but didn't find them very good. So when you go to the App Store and search for Heart Rate, many apps will appear here. And for example, I try this one from Runtastic. It didn't work at all; I didn't even take my pulse when I was trying. Then I tried some free ones and that didn't work very well either. So the one that I found that I think works the best is actually this: it's sleep cycle heart rate.
So the sleep cycle heart rate, you'll buy it, I think it's like three dollars or something. And now I already bought it and so I don't see the price, but it is also available in the sleep cycle bundle, where you get both: sleep cycle nap and sleep cycle heart rate . These are all pretty decent apps I would say, so I can recommend getting them all for tracking sleep and naps.
So when you have this and you just open it up, you have a stats tab here. You have your settings and the settings are pretty simple. You just have your profile, you have notes that you can turn on or off. Profile information that simply matches if you enter weight, height, gender and date of birth data. And this you can also retrieve directly from the health kit application. You can also choose to share data with the health kit, which I do because I think it's really convenient to have everything together in the health kit.
When you want to measure, you click here at the bottom on measurement and then it says "gently place your finger on the rear camera lens." You place your finger on the camera and the light shines on your finger so you can read the pulse, I guess. In a few seconds it will show me that my pulse is currently 63 beats per minute. Then I can add a note to that and say "okay, when did I record this?" I would say now that it's more or less during rest and not really before bed” but hey, I'll skip that for now because I'm actually doing something. So I'm not putting any comments here and then it will be added with all the data here and it will automatically be moved into the health kit. So when I go to the health kit here, I scroll down to heart rate and to the right here, the latest heart rate data will be visible from what I took – 63 beats per minute.
I will have more videos on how to use the health kit as it is quite handy. But that's all we're going to experience for now. Last tip, sometimes it's hard to remember to take your pulse regularly and if you want to at least get some data on your pulse rate over time, I recommend using the sleep cycle as your wake-up clock. Because when you use it as an alarm clock, you can activate the setting and check the heart rate after waking up. So this is a sleep cycle, that'll be for another video, go through a sleep cycle, and then you just turn on heart rate here. When this option is enabled, as soon as you wake up, your phone's light will turn on and you simply place your finger on the camera. It will record your pulse and automatically save it as your wake-up pulse.
So it's pretty good to forget some more regular statistics on this subject. That was all for now. If you like this or have any questions about it, feel free to ask in the comments below and if you liked the video and want more like this, subscribe to my channel. Have a good thing.
