I have the Google Pixel 8 here and in today's video I'm going to show you how to pass the SafetyNet attestation checks even after you unlock the bootloader and install Magisk.

And I want to point out that this tutorial will work with the larger Pixel 8 Pro exactly as it does with the base model I have here. No matter which version you have, the steps will be exactly the same.

To patch the Google Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro so that they pass SafetyNet attestation checks again, we need to download a Magisk module called SafetyNet Fix.

Several of these mods are available for Android from different developers, and each seems to work better on different devices. I even found that older versions of these mods would work better than others.

So after going through the options and testing a few, I found a version that works perfectly on the base model of the Pixel 8 that I have here. And I'll be sure to include a direct download link to the same version I'm installing here today, in the video description below.

Once completed, this will allow you to pass both the Basic Integrity test as well as the CTS Profile Match test with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

So go ahead and download the Magisk module.
It should be a ZIP file that we can easily install.

Now open the Magisk app.
Tap the Module tab here at the bottom.
And then tap the Install from Storage button at the top.

This will bring up a file browser where you will want to locate where you saved this ZIP file.
The installation shouldn't take long and we can follow what Magisk is doing with the log window here.

It will ask you to restart the phone after installing the module, but we need to check something else real quick.
So let's go back.
Make sure we are on the Home tab.
And then tap the gear icon in the upper right corner to enter the Magisk settings area.

You'll want to scroll down to the Magisk section and look for the Zygisk toggle.
You may not have activated this toggle yet, and it is necessary for this module to function properly.
So activate Zygisk, if you haven't already done so.
And then we can restart the Pixel 8.

The reboot process should be the same as usual
And this will take us back to the Android lock screen as you would expect.

When the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro restarts, let's open the Magisk app.
So we can check the Modules tab again.

This allows us to ensure that the module has been installed correctly and is currently active.
If everything looks good, we can then open our SafetyNet checker application.
And I'll be sure to include a link to this app in the video description as well.

Once the module is installed and active, let's do another SafetyNet attestation check to make sure everything is working properly.

As you can see, we get a success message here with both checks, so we're done.

Now I want to point out that this module we installed is not the latest version available from this developer.
In fact, you may have noticed that when we checked the Modules tab in Magisk, the Update button was accessible.

However, when I installed the latest version from this developer on the Pixel 8, I did not pass the CTS profile test.
So there seems to be some sort of bug with the latest version. . .or maybe Google rolled back some changes from where it was in June or July.

Anyway, if you install this specific version that I linked below, it will work perfectly.
