How to Properly Dispose of Used Cooking Oil

Whether we are frying minced meat or baking bacon we often have leftover cooking oil. The tendency is to pour it down the drain but this can clog and damage pipes and if it is poured outside on the ground it can cause problems for wildlife.
You can save your cooking oil for later use but if it has gone bad or you no longer want it there are some easy and safe ways to dispose of it. It’s also a good idea to check with your local solid waste department to see if they have any recommendations or regulations for disposal.
