There are many programs, such as ezvid and Camtasia. Some have ads and others cost money. In this video I explain how to download, install and configure the Open Broadcaster software (https://obsproject.com). It's free, ad-free, and lets you record your desktop and a webcam simultaneously. On forums, it is most often recommended as the best screen recording software. You can use it for gaming videos or even for presentations and business presentations.
The screen recorder is very powerful. Watch the video to learn how to configure and install it.
INSTALL
To begin, we will go to http://www.obsproject.com to install the OBS Studio software or Open Broadcaster Software Studio. Then we will install the software on my computer.
SOURCES
Once installed, the first thing we will do is add sources. We'll add one for "Display Capture" – which gives us the desktop. We'll add another one for the "Video Capture Device" – which gives us the webcam. You need to make sure that the video capture device appears at the top of the list, which ensures that the video appears above the desktop image.
OUTPUT TAB
Next, we check the output tab. This shows where the video files are stored. You can also change the file type we store the video as. Personally, I prefer to save as .mp4.
AUDIO
Next we check the audio. You can see how to adjust the audio level for the system audio as well as the mic.
Finally, we'll click on the recording, view a demo recording in a game, and then play the file to see how the recording performed.
