Signs that your computer is infected
So what are the signs? The most important ones are new error messages, security alerts or opening and closing applications. But these are the important ones, other viruses can affect your PC in more subtle ways: slower performance, laptop battery life draining faster, or significantly increased data consumption. A virus can simply hide somewhere and send your data to a random malicious actor… That said, how do you back up your Windows computer?

Use an antivirus!
Resource demand is low, it's easy to use and has an excellent malware detection history – a quick solution to your virus problem… As an antivirus alternative to Windows 10, Norton offers similar security with even more of features, but can be a little complicated for beginners…
So we open the TotalAV app, go to Malware Scan and run a full system scan – give it a few minutes to scan your entire system. Now, the duration will vary depending on the number of files and applications you have. Once the scan is complete, any suspected malware is quarantined. From there, you can keep these files in quarantine or delete them entirely. I don't really advise keeping files unless they are personal files or something you actually know about. Antiviruses may mark files as false positives. The advantage of TotalAV is that, according to tests by antivirus research institutes, it generally does not make errors. So delete the files and restart your computer.

Uninstall programs and extensions
For this approach, go to Settings and search for Program Uninstaller in Windows. Then go through all the apps and try to find anything suspicious. The problem is that most malware isn't just named "definitely a virus".
