We all know the helpful assistance of Amazon's Alexa digital assistant. She can answer questions, share weather and news, give cooking tips, convert measurements and play music, and much more. But just in time for the holidays, Amazon has launched a new Amazon and Alexa holiday feature called "Hey Santa." In this video I'm going to tell you exactly what you need to do to call on Santa for help during the holidays, to notify stores, or just to have a little fun at Christmas.

Starting now on all Amazon devices, Santa is making an appearance on your Echo, or Echo Show as a holiday personality for Alexa.

Before you can chat with his beard, you will need to activate this skill. The easiest way to do this is to say "A-LADY, turn on 'Hey Santa'" to get started.
If you are a child… A parent will need to approve this request, and they will need to complete this in the Alexa app by granting parental permission and logging into your account. Hilariously, I also had to verify my credit card information to prove my adulthood. Once you are done with all the permissions, you need to ask Alexa again to enable Hey Santa.

In doing so, you will discover the wonderful voice of the North Pole Man himself!

You can also simply go to the Alexa app, search for Skills & Games, and then search for Hey Santa, which is listed as "Santa – Holiday Personality for Alexa".

It's worth noting that this is a voice-only feature, even on Echo Show devices; there is no video element to speak of, because naturally Santa is in his workshop, writing letters, taking out his costume or warming milk and has no time to appear on camera. I would love to see some generic Christmas images on screen, like a wide shot of Santa's house at the North Pole, or holly or snow, reindeer grazing, that sort of thing, but may -maybe we could put this on my list for next time. year..

After enabling /"Hey Santa/", you will enjoy fun holiday-themed responses. Ask Santa what the weather is like for a jolly old forecast.
If you ask it to add something to your shopping list, it can't do it, but it will respond with character to most of the requests you'd make to Alexa on a regular basis, which is really fun, even for us kids. adults! I have a full list of orders on tgc.com but here's a taste…
Do you want Santa to sing? Say, “Hey Santa, sing Jingle Bells.” »

Are you looking for tales or stories by the fire on Christmas Eve? Say:
“Hey Santa, tell me the news from the North Pole.”

You want to know if you are receiving this stuffed stocking or a piece of coal, say:
“Hey Santa, am I on the naughty or nice list?”

Please take the opportunity to connect and share this video with your friends and family if you find it useful.
