In earlier versions of iOS and older iPhones, we could see the battery percentage in numerical form. However, when the iPhone X came out, Apple removed it and replaced it with a visual battery bar to save space for Face ID and more at the top.

Now, with the release of the new iPhones and iOS 16, Apple has reinstated the ability to re-enable the percentage. Here's how to enable or disable it.

To get started, open the Settings app.

Inside here, scroll down and choose Battery. Now at the top you have the option to enable battery percentage.

Pressing the slider on the right will turn it on. Now if you look at the battery level at the top, you will see that it will show you the battery percentage instead of a bar.

And to turn it off, you can just come back here and tap the slider again to go back to just the bar.

This was first introduced in a beta version of iOS 16 and rolled out with the official version. Some users reported that the percentages weren't really accurate, but it appears Apple has fixed this with software updates. So if you're having issues, just make sure you're updated to the latest version of iOS.

And this is how you enable iPhone battery percentage level in iOS 16.
