In this video we see how to prevent apps from opening at startup in Windows 10.
You buy your new machine and over time you load more programs/applications onto it. This is good, but as you add more applications/programs, they can often run at machine startup and the more you have, the more it slows down your machine. It's quite common to not notice this until your machine starts taking a long time to boot up!
There is a way to prevent unnecessary apps or programs from opening at startup when using your Windows 10 computer. They don't all have to run at startup. It just depends on which ones are most important to you.
To prevent applications from opening at startup, follow these steps:
1. Type in the search box, at the bottom left of your screen, “startup applications”.
2. When the “Startup Applications” option appears at the top right, click on it.
3. A new window opens – a list of all your Windows 10 startup programs/apps appears.
4. Go through the list and disable the apps you don't want to open on startup.
5. Close/minimize the “Startup Applications” window.
6. Job done!
