Apple really knows what to do when it comes across a really cool feature: put it away and pray that everyone forgets about it, then bring it back some time later and announce it, once again, as new “revolutionary” feature that did absolutely nothing. it didn't exist before!
I know not everyone will care about capacitive touch disappearing. In fact, I know tons of people who never even realized it existed. But there's one thing we can all say we have in common, and that's definitely thanks to the loss of capacitive touch: every time you take your phone out of your pocket, your flashlight is on!
Okay, what are the solutions? The number one solution is to simply make sure you put your phone in your pocket with your screen facing out. This way your thigh can't touch your screen, and therefore no flashlight! But it's a bit of a scary path to take: What happens when you hit the corner of the counter a little too hard with your thigh? Option number two is to disable the “Raise to Wake” and “Tap to Wake” features on your iPhone. By doing this, the screen is much more likely to stay asleep in your pocket, meaning the buttons your thighs like to touch won't be exposed!
