How to Store Homemade Cookies to Maximize Freshness

I love homemade sugar cookies especially when someone else takes the time to bake them for me as a Christmas gift. Right now there are a ton of Christmas cookies sitting on my counter. Since there are only two of us we rarely get to eat them all. As the holidays come and go I’ve always wondered how long I can keep them and what’s the best way to store them.
