The first thing you need to do is add your Gmail account on your iOS device. And you can do that by going to Email Account Settings, Add Account. Here, click on Google and follow the steps to add your Gmail account.
The second step is to change your default account in your Contacts app. To access it, go to Settings Contacts Default account. Here, select Gmail.
Next, you need to download an app called Contacts Sync. This is an app that you can download from your Apple App Store.
