video description

Are you trying to uninstall all unused and unnecessary apps on your Samsung Galaxy device? If so, you may have come across an app called Internet and the uninstall button is either grayed out or replaced with a disable button.

#samsunggalaxy #galaxys24 #galaxys23 #galaxys22

But this method is more complicated than just using a computer with a USB cable. . .so I will show you this method here today.
If you don't have a computer you can use, be sure to check out the video description below for a link to a guide I created on setting up LADB on your Android device.

With LADB setup, you can enter the ADB shell and run the same command that I'm going to show you here today.

But. because for this video we will be using my desktop computer and a program called ADB & Fastboot tools. So if you don't have Google Platform Tools installed on your computer yet, I also have a second video linked below that will show you how to download ADB & Fastboot, which is the new name for the program. Tiny ADB & Fastboot installation that many of us are familiar with.

Once everything is set up, we can now begin the process of uninstalling the Samsung Internet Web Browser app from the default user on your Android smartphone or tablet.

To do this we will have to connect the phone or tablet to the PC with a USB cable.
And we will have to enable developer mode.
Again, if you haven't revealed the hidden Developer Options menu on your Samsung Galaxy device, look below for a link to a dedicated guide I made on the subject.

We will now launch a Command Prompt, Windows PowerShell, or Terminal window in the same folder as our ADB and Fastboot tools.
And we can even run the adb devices command to make sure that the connection from our PC to the Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet is working properly.

Next, we will execute the command. . .

adb shell

and press Enter on the keyboard.
This will change our prompt from commands run from PC to commands run directly on the Android device connected via USB cable.

Now we will execute a command

which tells Android's Package Manager service to uninstall the app with the package name com.sec.android.app.sbrowser from the default user. user alias 0

This also tells the package manager to keep our user data for the app, in case we need to reinstall it later.

With all that typed. . .or pasted from the clipboard. . .we can press Enter on the keyboard to run it.

And this should uninstall the Samsung Internet Web Browser app from the device.
If you are actively looking at the screen when you press the Enter button, you should see it disappear.

Once done, the Internet application will no longer be available on your device, no matter where you search for it.

But if you ever want to use the app in the future.
You can choose to perform a factory data reset. Which is ideal if you just want to sell it or give it to someone.

Or you can start all this again and connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable. open a command prompt and re-enter this ADB shell

And then from there you can run the command…
pm install-existing com.sec.android.app.sbrowser

and this will reinstall the app to your default user account so you can launch the app and use it as usual.
