Follow these simple steps to unsend an email in Gmail and extend your unsend window beyond the default five seconds.

How to cancel sending on mobile:

1. Tap “Send” on an email in the Gmail app.
2. Immediately after tapping Send, look for a notification at the bottom right of your screen that says "Cancel."
3. Tap “Cancel”.
4. Your original post will reappear so you can make changes.

How to extend your unsend window

1. Open Gmail on your desktop.
2. At the top right, click on the “Settings” icon.
3. Click “See all settings”.
4. Find the line with /"Cancel sending/" and "Send cancel period".
5. Use the “Send Cancellation Period” drop-down menu to choose between 5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save Changes”.
