You can personalize your Google Chrome homepage (the New Tab page) with not only images, but also GIFs and videos! Whether it's a scene from your favorite movie, an awesome meme, or personal content, you can easily do it all. In this tutorial, we show you how to use a GIF to customize your Chrome homepage background. If you want to use a video, simply convert it to GIF for free using Kapwing first.
There are 6 steps. If you've already uploaded your GIF, skip to step 5.
1. Open Kapwing studio https://www.kapwing.com/studio
2. Upload or link your video. Cut or add visual elements if desired.
3. Choose GIF output format in settings (located under Publish button)
4. Click Download
5. Find your downloaded GIF and change the extension to “.png”
6. Open a new Chrome tab, click “Customize” in the bottom right corner, then upload your GIF!
