In this tutorial, you will learn how to use iPhone Live Text OCR in iOS 15 (in the Camera app).

OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. Simply put, Live Text OCR recognizes text in photos and turns it into text that you can interact with.

To use it in the Live Camera app, open the Camera app and simply point the camera at the text. The camera will automatically recognize the text and put brackets around it. If there are multiple pieces of text, just tap the one you need. At the bottom right, you will notice that a new icon appears.

Now drag or tap the text you want to select or tap select all. From there, you have the option to copy it, search it, translate it, or share it.

It’s SO seamless and fast! This even works with stylized fonts, although some heavily stylized fonts may produce incorrect letters.

How often should you convert real text to digital text? Let us know in the comments below.
