The SD Memory Card Formatter can restore cards to factory settings, making them easier to use on a variety of devices and operating systems. The trainer works on Windows or Mac computers. Formatted cards can be used on devices using other operating systems.
Formatting SD memory cards allows you to ensure they are clean before use. The formatting process can resolve any performance issues, remove viruses, and confirm that your card is optimized for successful storage.
Before formatting, always make sure that all the data on the card you want to format is saved elsewhere. Your data will not be accessible after the formatting process. You have two options for formatting:
1. Quick Format – restores file structures only. It does NOT erase data already stored on the card. Thus, the data can be retrieved using specific software available in the market. If you need to erase data on the card, use the Overwrite Format function.
2. Overwrite format – erases both the file structure AND the data. This option takes more time, but is more secure in protecting the data stored on your card.
