To use extra space on your Solid State Drive (SSD) as virtual RAM on a Windows PC. If you have a Mac with an internal SSD drive, macOS will automatically manage your virtual memory settings.

1-Right-click on this PC. It's the icon on your Windows desktop that looks like a computer. A menu will appear.
2-Click on Properties.
3-Click on Advanced system settings. It's on the left side of the window. This opens the System Properties dialog box.
4-Click Settings under the /"Performance/" heading. This is the first /"Settings/" button on the /"Advanced/" tab. A list of performance options will appear.
5-Click on the Advanced tab. This is the second tab in the window.
6-Click on Modify…. It's under the heading /"Virtual Memory/". This opens the Virtual Memory dialog box, where you can configure how much of your hard drive will be used as RAM.
7-Uncheck /"Automatically manage paging file size for all drives./" You can now change the options on this screen.
8-Click on your SSD drive. This selects the drive as the location of your paging file (virtual RAM).
9-Select System Managed Size.
If you have specific instructions on the size of the paging file you need, select Custom Size instead, and then enter the minimum and maximum size of the paging file in the appropriate spaces.
10 clicks on Set.
11-Click OK. A pop-up message will appear, informing you that you will need to restart your computer before the changes take effect.
12-Click OK. Your PC will now shut down and restart. When saving, it will use part of your SSD as virtual RAM, which should speed up your computer.
