Not only was my battery dead, but it wasn't taking a charge. I use this computer near an outlet anyway, so I figured why not just get rid of the battery. The charger had such a small port that it kept bending or just wouldn't stay inside. It kept turning off the computer, so I just hardwired it. I hope this helps you as it helped me.
