I get a new computer with Windows 11 Dell Optiplex 7010 and Windows 11 Professional Setup

In an effort to move my video editing tasks away from the stupid Mac computer, I decided to get a new Windows computer with a relatively powerful processor. I opted for the Dell Optiplex 7010 in a compact form factor, which, even with a few upgrades, still costs less than a third of the price of a stupid new Mac.

I'm not moving any other machine away from Windows 7. I'm not stopping using Windows 7. Windows 7 is still 100% usable for everything I do on the computer, including video editing. I only changed the machine because the other one would take hours and hours to render the video if the production took longer. All other units in the house will remain on Windows 7 or earlier, and it's quite possible that this machine will be moved to a smaller, dedicated office elsewhere and a Windows 7 unit will move back here.

I've heard a lot of complaints about Windows 11, even more so than Windows 10. While I agree that the extremely high hardware requirements are absolutely outrageous, I haven't really encountered any other issues that weren't already there. running Windows 10, which in my opinion was a horrible system. Here, we've configured the computer exactly as it shipped, giving us a good idea of the out-of-the-box experience for Windows 11 Pro.

I used the machine to make this video. After spending some time adjusting the settings to my preferences, I really don't have any major complaints aside from the flat interface which has absolutely no 3D feel to the buttons. It is a very powerful, lively and responsive machine. It recorded video in a fraction of the time it took the old unit. It's definitely not Windows 7, and I can't see myself using this machine for anything other than video editing, but at the same time I don't see what the problem is either. I'll take more than 10 any day.
