If you had asked me before I had kids what brand of canned cookies I liked best I would have looked at you smugly and said what Ina Garten says: "Homemade is best." Now that I'm much older a little wiser and a lot more tired I can tell you that homemade cookies on a weeknight just don't happen anymore. Ever.
Would I prefer homemade cookies? Absolutely! But the price I would pay for making them while my young children are out and about is about two hours of cleaning up toys after dinner. I am happy to take help. They are ready-made cookies.
