We’re used to seeing celebrity chef and cookbook author Ina Garten throw magically easy dinner parties at her East Hamptons estate where the food looks amazing the attention to detail is impeccable and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. But Garten doesn’t cook a feast every night of her life — she loves to eat out and occasionally have other people cook for her!

Ina Garten takes TODAY on a tour of her favorite Paris market

Garten is known for frequenting restaurants in the Hamptons where she lives and in Paris where she has a pied-a-terre in the 7th arrondissement. On Long Island Garten has firm favorites like the casual Canal Cafe and the refined Nick & Toni's. In the City of Lights she frequents traditional French restaurants like Café de Flore and Le Paul Bert. But Garten also enjoys fast-food classics and specialty shops from California and Milan and she has a few favorite spots in New York City that she loves to frequent. From chic to casual every place the Barefoot Contessa visits again and again is sure to be special.

Ina Garten loves a classic fresh meal — but she also makes room for fast food from a special place. "I have to say I don't eat fast food at all with one exception" she told Today. "When we're in California for book tours we always have to go to In-N-Out Burger. It's so good and I know it was Julia Childs' favorite so it's okay."

Garten is in good company. In-N-Out Burger is a beloved institution in California where most of its locations are. Other locations include Arizona Oregon Nevada Utah Colorado and Texas. It was founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder and is still going strong. The menu is simple; you can order three types of burgers: a hamburger a cheeseburger or a "Double-Double." You can also order fries and choose from milkshakes and soft drinks. There is a "secret menu" but it's not really that secret since you can find it on the website.
